Mack Sawyer: The Champion of Capital East by Joe Field

Set in the fictional nation of Arrowhead, this story is the fourth in the series. In this book, the National Scooterball Champions are looking to defend their titles and are placing all bets on Mack Sawyer. However, political forces threaten to undermine the games and use the players in order to advance their own ambitions.
This is a young adult series; however, the writing is refreshing and is easily able to be enjoyed by older adults as well. The world is interesting, and the characters have depth as well as a good development.
