The Ikalreev Prophecies (Verdunmull #1)The Ikalreev Prophecies by Jared A. Zakarian
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

“Three angels descending from heaven will be the sign of the approaching night” The Ikalreev Prophecy 1:4 “
In a magical realm full of fantastical creatures, an ancient prophecy is soon to be fulfilled. An ancient war between good and bad that has the potential to destroy the known world will come to fruition if the efforts of a select few fail. Will the citizens of Verdunmell be able to stave off the prophecies and the ensuing war? Or will the immortal beings bring their battles to the earth and lay waste? Will we ever truly find out all the secrets our characters are hiding from each other?
A well written fantasy epic. For a first book into this genre, the author has made a good entry. This is the first in a series, so if you like your books to be neatly parceled and finished, this is not for you, there is a cliffhanger that leaves multiple plot points open, while closing others. I found the book lengthy, typical for a fantasy novel, however, the pacing could have been tightened up a little bit more. All in all, a good book.
