Janette flees to Paris from her overbearing Mother in Boston, and she stumbles into down on his luck Gerard. He sees it as a way to distract him from his miseries that are soon coming to collect and the two begin a whirlwind romance, full of deceit, gambling, broken trust and lust.
The two are quite a pair, they both feed off of each other’s vice’s and Gerard opens Jannette’s world to the darker sides of life. The writing was a little clunky, some of the phrases used by Gerard made me laugh out loud. The writing
